Yukon Blonde’s single Saturday Night from their upcoming album comes in strong with poppy synth that immediately sends the listener into a tailspin of ‘80’s  New Wave nostalgia. The vocals start up and hit you with a punchy modern vibe reminiscent of Franz Ferdinand circa 2009.

The onomatopoeic chorus of “la la la la la la” is maybe the catchiest thing I’ve heard all year. It’s impossible to listen to this part without getting a little excited and bobbing your head along with it.

The final minute of the song eschews vocals and goes into full electronica, injecting modern dubstep elements into the clean New Wave sound already present in the song. This single is technically impressive and highly danceable – a definite triumph for Yukon Blonde.
